Happy Christmas Things

Just the fact that the month is December makes me so so happy! I am especially happy right now because I finished my last group of tests for awhile!!!!!! Bo thought something was wrong with me because I was walking around smiling and singing for no reason at all and it is because I was so sick of studying I thought I might die if I had to do it for one more day- not really, but.... I don't talk about school much on my blog because I rather talk about happy things such as......

It SNOWED in MISSISSIPPI!!!!!
My three Favorite Christmas Ornaments this year! A tooth of course, a bassett hound because I buy every bassett hound ornament I see, and a piece of strawberry cake from the Belhaven Garden Club ornament swap!

The Belhaven Singing Christmas Tree! It is the 77th annual singing tree and is recognized as the oldest live singing christmas tree in America. This is the second year that Bo, Kerri, Jonathan, and I have gone- it just puts you in the christmas spirit- we bundled up and took hot apple cider! It is at the soccer field at Belhaven and you have to go down a big hill to get down there and Jonathan had trouble coming back up the hill!!!!

My Mantle and of course my Bassett Hound stocking!!!

30 people from our Sunday School Class all went to Sal and Mookies for a Christmas get together so fun- we were supposed to dress christmasy- I found these five dollar t-shirts at WalMart with a huge santa head that says Believe- hilarious!!!

Kitchen Remodel

I absolutely love our little house in Belhaven and actually am not ready to leave it anytime soon! It is fun to have a house that we can always make improvements too and it is so great to have a father- in- law that can do any project imaginable. I have always loved the Mexican tile in our kitchen but the cabinets and cracks in the wall were not so fun to look at! The cabinets were seriously plain pieces of plywood with some brass and some silver knobs and there was painted linoleum on half the wall- no character at all!!!! Bo's dad hand made beautiful cabinets with so much more detail that just dramatically changed our whole kitchen. My mom came one weekend and we went through about 5 cans of sample color of paints before we decided on a brown called "cork board". We painted all the brown on the walls and even painted the ceiling a mint green. Let me just tell you that this kitchen is small but people have always told me that smaller rooms are harder to paint because of all the nooks and crannies- and boy is that true- i actually hate paint brushes right now and still have not scraped all the paint off the kitchen floor from me being lazy! The kitchen turned out absolutely beautiful! It is so fresh and clean and has an updated look! We hope to in the future to update to stainless steel appliances but for now I love my stove from who knows what decade and my refrigerator that makes a different noise every hour! Thanks Mr. Jimmy for all your hard work and time put in to making our kitchen so beautiful! BEFORE

AFTER

We put wood paneling over the existing linoleom behind the stove- sooo much better!

Halloween

So.... this Halloween Bo and I decided to go to the dental school party and actually get a costume. We went to two huge halloween stores in Jackson and after looking around at walls and walls of costumes somehow we decided on me being the Border Control and bo being a Mexican- it was actually a costume but after we bought them we thought that they could be seen as offensive, but that was not our intention-haha. When we got to the party though there were others that were very questionable and everyone loved it so...... Blake's house was turned into a haunted house and I should have taken pictures of all the great costumes but my camera went dead and the place was packed. We had so much fun and can't wait till next year!

Starkvegas

I know I have not posted in a loooong time but my camera broke and I guess I felt like I couldn't post without pics??
This past weekend some of our best friends, Mcleod and Jason, came all the way from Sugarland, Texas to stay with us and go to the State vs. Florida game. I have missed them so much. Mcleod and Jason dated as long as Bo and I, so all through college we went through the dating game together and got married in the same summer!!
Friday night we grilled out and then went to an outdoor concert in Dallis and Christy's front yard in Belhaven. It was so fun! The band was Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. They were great! I bought there christmas CD and a t shirt!

This is a picture with Andrew and Emily Fisher- neighbors in Belhaven and our good friends that we met in our Sunday School class at First Presbyterian- which we joined by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!- God has blessed us so much by leading us to such a Godly church where we have been able to meet the greatest fellow believers!!!!

Saturday morning the boys made us get up at 5:30 to be ready to leave for starkville at 7:00. Jason made sure we got there to enjoy the WHOLE day in starkvegas- thanks Jason!!! When we got there all we saw were empty tailgate tents- but by the end of the day there was a record attendence!

Roadtrips

This past week we had a break from school before the big fall semester begins. There is no greater feeeling than walking out of school knowing you do not have to come back for a week but there is always the return that is not so great, but...... Bo and I headed to T-town (tupelo for those who do not know the lingo) for Bo to play in the Tupelo Country Club golf tournament- he loves golf so much and is actually in Minnesota for the PGA tournament where he is hoping that Tiger Woods will pick him out of the thousands of people for an autograph. He is with my mom, brother tucker, and my grandfather! After the golf tournament we went on a mini vacation to Nashville, TN. The hounds stayed with their grandparents, Bo's parents, while we got to just hang out in Nashville. It was the best vacation for me not to have to clean, worry about the dogs, etc. I slept late, read, and layed out everyday till Bo got back from work so we could go out to eat and shop around.

My camera was dead most of the time but I did get a picture of the Pancake Pantry. My friend, Catherine Sledge, told us that one of her friends said this was the best place ever! It is called a Nashville tradition and well worth the wait that was all the way down the street. The best pancakes I have ever had we think because of their homemade syrup. Moral of the story if you go to Nashville- EAT HERE!!!!
When we got back from Nashville I headed to my grandmothers lake house for our annual college reunion with all my bestest college friends minus a few who could not attend- did not have my camera so will post about all my friends when they email the pics!!!!!Posted by Picasa

Just a good weekend!

This summer has gone by soo fast- I can not believe this is the last weekend in July! This past thursday all the girls in my class had a baby shower for Lauren Crenshaw. She has the cutest belly ever- just like a little basketball taped to her stomach!! She is having a little boy that has a mystery name till he is born- I wonder what it will be???? All the girls in my class are so great and these past two years would not have been the same without them!

Bo and I headed to Tupelo this weekend for Bonnie and Paul's wedding! It was a beautiful wedding with a really fun reception at the Mize's house! We got to see a lot of people from high school that we have not seen in a really long time so that is always fun and we got to see Kerri and Jonathan too- they were both in the wedding! Love you kerri-I love seeing you every day!!

Sunday before we left we ate at Bo's great grandmother's house- Here is a picture of his grandmother and great grandmother! Mama Gin is hilarious-she is 92 years old and says the funniest things- she still works out three times a week and feels great! She fried us some chicken, okra, and pickles- she said she had been frying all morning-haha!!

It was great to see so many friends and family!!!

The Rug Doctor

If you have been around me or lived with me long enough you know that I love cleaning! In college my roomates would laugh because they would come in and I would be scrubbing Sara Beth's flower rugs on my hands and knees. So, this weekend was not very eventful but very productive. I have been fantasizing about renting a carpet cleaner for months to clean the one room in our house that is carpet- the master bedroom- I thought about getting new carpet but opted for the cheaper route of cleaning it myself. Let me just say that I thoroughly enjoyed every minute cleaning that disgusting carpet- the bottle of cleaning solution for the Rug Doctor said that it could be used for 3 to 4 rooms, but I used the ENTIRE bottle on one little area in our room- I was serious! Here is a picture of the dirty water from the first round- I know it is nasty but I had to save a glass to show Bo just how dirty it was- he went to play golf while I cleaned- probably so I could enjoy it in peace-HaHa!

But now I can finally sleep at night knowing my carpet is as clean as it can be- if we can keep these creatures off of it!!

I also got to put pine straw in the front yard and plant new flowers in the front urns and put up a hanging basket- I love anything with flowers and yardwork too! I enjoyed myself this weekend and got to check some things off my never ending to do list but maybe next weekend will be a little more exciting to others!
